We would like to invite you to contribute to the writing of Pett Corby´s second book on natural methods for avoiding Unplanned Pregnancy (UP). All methods described in her first book were part of a research process. This new book is not going to differ in that respect. Indeed, it is the intention to build upon the knowledge gained about this subject previously, and if possible, to enlarge and enhance its usefulness and general applicability to as wide an audience as possible.

Please if you can, therefore, share with us the natural methods you use, or have previous knowledge and experience of from personal usage for avoiding the Problem. If you can also tell us how you came to have such knowledge, we would be most grateful.

We plan to publish all submitted replies in a dedicated section of the book, anonymously, unless indicated otherwise by individual respondents. If you are willing to be identified with our study, please indicate the extent of your participation by telling us whether you prefer to have only your name, or your city or website published too.

To achieve this, we will be establishing VG as a Club for Good Causes, and although the first series of planned events will be in support of the UP Campaign, which will continue for many years, we will also be adding further worthy Good Causes into our Agendas for the deployment of the VG Registered Artistes.  As a result, many more Events, Musical Productions and Videos will emerge over the years than we originally conceived.

Why Children are Having Children (3)

 

Because the majority of adults do not know themselves, how to avoid the problem of Unplanned Pregnancy (UP).

 

Our sex-taboo culture skirts around such issues, and the problems this attitude causes, pile up. Dropping out of school due to UP or abortion, for instance, would probably never occur if we – the adults – knew and shared with our children, the simple knowledge about avoiding UP using only a variety of natural methods.

 

Instead, and now without Parental sanction, it seems, the State proposes the Pill for all teenage girls.  Popping in the pill, however, puts the Responsibilityfor our own actions elsewhere. The subject, by right, should first be thought through as a serious family matter at home, because every so often, the natural embarrassment of talking about sex at schools, just makes the subject a laughing matter, thereby trivialising it.

 

Some might also argue, that for young developing adults who are beginning to experience hormonal changes, it is very difficult to simply educate them in sexual matters; and then to tell them not to actually behave sexually, is ludicrous.  No other subject is taught in this manner, so it is little wonder that the rate of teenage pregnancy has risen and continues to rise alarmingly.

 

The natural methods advocated, are proven, simple, easy to understand, and most importantly, they work, despite the fact that the opposite, State-sponsored drug-based option is the solution of choice selected by the various Authorities involved with the children’s health and education, thereby attempting to remove such welfare and moral choices from the family’s control.

Here are some remarks provided by a recent respondent in support of our campaign.  My thanks to that lady, who didn´t sign her name, for her contribution, which is:

 

“I would prefer that they can be educated by sex training, and sex education.  I really don’t care how they are being educated by sex; the bottom line, they know what is up, and what to do about it.

Back in the days, some parents didn’t know how to explain sex to teenagers; when you ask, some might say, “child, get out of my face”, or act as if they don’t know what you’re talking about.  My experience was that either I learned from books, friends, the streets, and experience first hand.”

We are all wired to have sex, well most are, so we need to prepare the next generation as to the pitfalls associated with premature activity that can lead to so many complications including disease and unwanted pregnancy, and even death. 

During school, children are taught some sexual information, but in my opinion, the parents should have already been preparing their child for the realities that seems to face our youth at a younger and younger age.

When I think of training in regard to this subject matter, I would image learning methods to grow more intimate with your partner and learn to heighten and help each other achieve the ultimate experience. Obviously this would be for older, more mature individuals.

While this is a sensitive topic – the bottom line is – people have sex, so if they learn from the medical facts and/or experiences of others help them to make the correct decisions as they proceed through life, I am all for it.”

I am a mom of six…blended family and I believe my greatest passion in life is to be a great mom and mentor!

In the case of sex education, I would prefer my teenaged daughter to be properly informed about the risks involved in having sex and all that goes with being sexually active.  Unfortunately, I did not have parents who felt comfortable enough to properly discuss sex with me.  As a  result, I learned by experimenting as most teenagers do.  Thank God I was fortunate enough not to become pregnant.  That was purely by the grace of God.

More importantly, I believe it’s important to educate parents in order that training begins at home.  When these topics are presented in school, social settings, T.V., etc., they become either confirmation of the truth of consequences.”

There´s no Such a Thing as an Unplanned Pregnancy (1)

… At least not for me. This was made possible with the simple knowledge I found in a little booklet when I was 16. Since then I´ve lived life without fear of Unplanned Pregnancy (UP). Two years ago, before I got the idea to write a book on the subject, I was blissfully ignorant about the problems people around me were having with UP or contraceptive drugs. Frankly I was lucky to have read *that* book at the most appropriate time of my life, but it seems that not many people had it *that* easy.

Yet, it is so simple and easy to avoid UP using only natural and proven ways. You will be amazed… If you have teenage children make them aware of this link, www.you-choose-when.com and by all means start to research natural family planning… The trouble with contraceptive drugs is that they don´t always work (60% of Australian women became pregnant while on conventional contraception.*), but also, since they come with side effects, which can require even more prescribed drugs that may also have side effects… I initiated an awareness campaign on MySpace on 12 January 2008 after our UK Health Minster, Lord Darzi, introduced contraceptive drugs for FREE to children under 16 years of age. I found his decision both abhorrent and totally unnecessary. I thought our children don´t need drugs to avoid UP, but instead, a simple information that will allow them to avoid the problem at no cost or toxic side effect every time.

The Campaign quickly received the support of parents, teenage girls & boys and people from all walks of life including politicians and music artists. We formed Virtual Gigs band, which will tour the world spreading the word for the next 30 years. Today, just over a year after the Campaign was created, it has received the support of over 20,000 people. However, our goal is to reach and share this knowledge with 1 billion people by 2020. All our events are going to be live, broadcast around the world through a satellite and digitally (Internet). In one night millions of people will hear our message and know about our partners and sponsors.

We are going to do several radio shows every day, appearing on all major radio stations and every small radio station that invites us, along with radioblogs.

Newspapers and Magazines – a torrent of news and press releases, along with articles and editorials sourced from every corner and language of the world.

We are going to appear on major broadcast, cable and internet TV shows around the world. (One of the TV presenters interested in our event is ABHA “The ‘East-West’ Catalyst” MB). Right now we are working on ways to get the message out to Asian people in the most effective way and language(s).

I am in contact with the Producer of CN8 Comcast, Untitled States to do an extended national debate called, “Drug Free Methods Vs. Side Effects of Contraceptive Drugs – Where Do You Stand?” with a panel from both sides and audience participation. My goal is for this debate to syndicate globally, running on all major TV stations and private channels, radio stations, newspapers and magazines around the world, in every language on Earth.

The huge problem with Unplanned Pregnancy (or UP for short) and my awareness about it gives me a great sense of urgency because too few people are doing much about it, using holistic principles.

Contraceptive drugs may be good to those who suffer medical conditions. The Unplanned Pregnancy Project (UPP) in a Nutshell

Jason – one of my Ning Social Network friends asked me to explain the Unplanned Pregnancy Project in a nutshell. He gave me permission to publish his email. Below are his exact words and my reply.

Thing is, I had been thinking that my music should be dedicated to projects I care about.  I realize you’ve written a lot about this project of yours but can you, in a nutshell, piece it together for me so I can wrap my brain around it?  I know it’s more expansive but maybe if you can summarize in a couple of paragraphs for me? 

What I know so far – you’re concerned with overpopulation and you want safer alternatives to chemically inspired birth control.  I am in agreement with you here.  I think the drugs they give women for birth control really mess with their estrogen balance, which creates many problems in the body – and also in a woman’s relationship with her partners and the outside world in general.

For the male, the options are slim.  Rubber devices which make sex uncomfortable or a “minor” operation – both of which may or may not work at all, depending on circumstances.  Operations, however minor, even “exploratory surgery” can leave inner scars, prompting a lifetime of arthritic pain.  It’s not something I want in my groin.  

So, I’m with you.  I’m just not clear on your solutions yet.  Can you help?

Yes, sure… In a nutshell the Unplanned Pregnancy Projects (UPP) is about empowering people of both sexes with a simple knowledge. Hence “you-choose-when”, not “see what happens… whether it happens at all”. The knowledge Im talking about isn´t something I have originated. I´ve researched it and lived by many of the methods, I talk about in my book, for two decades before I got the idea to write about them. Knowing what to do in a certain moment, the desire to stay child free and a right attitude/responsibility is all one needs in order to avoid UP. It really isnt a big deal. In fact I find it less work than boil an egg.

 

The idea is to create a world:
 
Where all young people CHOOSE when to become parents.
Where there isn’t overpopulation running out of hand or an army of hungry, unwanted children.
Where abortion simply doesn’t exist because there isn’t such a thing as unplanned pregnancy.
Where children don’t give birth to children.
Where there aren’t forced relationships or marriages either. (Have you heard of men saying: “I was trapped in a relationship by UP.”)

 

Only a year ago I didn´t know that contraceptive drugs come with a list of dangerous side effects… Pharmaceutical companies run a business and until there is a price tag on ´things´ it´s highly unlikely that ´health´ and ´permanent cure´ will be their concern, but I don´t blame them. This is the way our monetary system is designed… The moment I was taken out of my cosy ignorance, by a friend of mine, I decided to write a book and tell people what I know. This wasn´t my idea either. It was given to me by another friend of mine who went through a traumatic abortion many years ago. However, back then I didn´t see the point of writing a book.

 

Talking about the rubber devices. I can only say that they are absolute must in a first time, steamy encounter, but when you know your partner there isn´t any need to use them. The only problem one needs to avoid is UP and this is done the natural ways by either of the partners: not having sex or going for another form of sex during the fertile period, which is only 3-5 days in a month. Then there is withdrawal, hygiene and many others. The skill one needs to learn to be successful here is the easiest and simplest ´thing´ to learn compared to learning the skill to drive or cook. One needs only a few hours to master it and then just keep on practising, which practise we do anyway by the natural call for reproduction. . One ´thing´ that goes hand in hand with any method though is a right Attitude…

 

So, yeah. There isn´t much to it and frankly there really isn´t a single valid reason why we, globally, should go through all problems like: dropping out of school, abortion to overpopulation or hunger. Do you agree? The only reason I see for this mas ignorance is the huge profits the pharmaceutical companies want to secure for the politicians they support, bankers and the system they defend, but I don´t blame them. They do exactly what they are suppose to do. I do what I feel right for me to do…

I´m a ´commitment-to-completion´ person in both personal and professional life.

 

2.      What are your basic business/professional activities?  

Marketing my book; spreading the word about my Global Awareness Campaign as the solution to the Unplanned Pregnancy (further called UP) problem.

 

3.      What are you ideally looking forward to – immediately and 5 years down the line. 

I´m looking to make the Global Awareness Campaign a complete success from start to finish in 10 years. I came to the awareness that shift in the way we deal with UP is extremely important for the survival of our planet. Shift in the way we deal with UP is also extremely important for gaining respect to our own kind. I simply can´t agree with the trend of making children we are not able to feed, that grow up without love and education or kill them in the act of ´abortion´ because we haven´t planned them to be part of our life. For those children and in the name of our human dignity failure is not an option.

 

4.      What are your expectations from your direct contacts? Anything immediately?  

Business people, like yourself or politicians are used to making quick decisions after having enough information… I expect a quick decision from business leaders and professional people to support the Global Awareness Campaign financially and give away the book NOW because the simple knowledge for successfully avoiding UP every time, at no cost belongs to those who are least able to sustain themselves in either developed or developing world; because they need to APPLY the knowledge NOW.
